Since I have not received a response to any of my queries directed at the Subway PR team, I would infer that the choice to stock gluten-free bread was likewise left up to individual franchise owners in the United States. However, I have not been able to independently confirm this information.

People in Kansas City and San Francisco who are part of a Gluten-Free Diet Support Group on Facebook have reported that they have never seen gluten-free bread at any of the Subway locations in their area.
